By submitting the contact form and clicking “I accept the Terms,” you agree to these Terms of Use.

2. Service Scope

  • Coelacanth Translation provides Japanese-to-English translations for business, and education content. Certified translations are not provided.

3. Process & Client Responsibilities

  • Clients must provide clear source materials and project instructions.‍
  • Translations are delivered with a Translator’s Statement, including STIBC membership and accuracy declaration.‍
  • Delivery timelines and quotes will be provided after materials are submitted.

4. Fees & Payments

Fees are based on project length, complexity, and formatting. Clients receive quotes before payment; payment details will be provided upon acceptance.

5. Intellectual Property

  • Clients retain copyright to original and translated materials.
  • Coelacanth Translation (Yuki Machida) grants a license for client use; no publication or distribution rights are granted beyond client needs without permission.

6. Confidentiality

All materials provided are treated as confidential. Information is not disclosed to third parties without consent, unless required by law.

7. Limitation of Liability

Translations are provided “as is” without warranty. Coelacanth Translation is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Maximum liability is limited to the total fees paid for the specific translation.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Accuracy is strived for, but no guarantee is made. The Translator’s Statement affirms accuracy to the best of professional ability.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by British Columbia law. Disputes will be resolved in BC courts.
