A Detail-Oriented Approach to Translation
Coelacanth Translation is a solo-run translation practice based in Vancouver, BC, Canada, led by Yuki Machida, an Associate Member of the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia (STIBC) — Member No. 03-04-3782. It is affiliated with Yuki’s design practice, Coelacanth Studio.
Yuki spent most of his youth and teenage years in Kitchener, Ontario, becoming bilingual in English and Japanese. After graduating from high school in Kitchener, he moved to Japan to attend Keio University, where he completed a four-year bachelor’s program. He began his design career at an advertising agency in Tokyo before relocating to Vancouver, BC, where he continues to reside. Throughout his career, Yuki has worked professionally in both design and Japanese-to-English translation.
He provides translation services for business, creative, and educational contexts. With a background in design and a deep respect for language, each project is handled with precision, care, and contextual awareness.
Each translation includes a Translator’s Statement, which contains Yuki’s STIBC membership information and a declaration of translation accuracy.
